i stayed in several hotels during my round trip in japan and i have to admit that i don't remember the room completely. in fact, this speaks more for the hotel than against it, as i mostly remember the negative things that annoyed me. the daiwa roynet is one of the classic business hotels that in my eyes offer the best value for money in japan. the location was perfect, the streetcar stops right in front of the hotel and the atomic bomb dome is within walking distance. checkin is semi-automatic, as i didn't understand it, a nice lady from the reception assisted me. as with all other reviews i have written about japan, the staff here were sweet as sugar. there is a very good ramen restaurant across the street that only have two dishes on the menu, they know what they do > perfect. i would also return to daiwa roynet without hesitation.

The rooms were relatively small but clean. Very bare-bones decor - you can tell this is a business hotel vs. a touristy hotel, which is why the cost is better. Loved the Family Mart in the lobby, and the hotel is located about a 3 min walk from the local streetcar station, which is what we ended up using as our primary mode of transport around Hiroshima. There are also 4 combo washer/dryer machines to use in the building - it was 500 yen per wash & dry cycle per load, and the machines automatically added their own laundry detergent. You also put in a 4 digit pin when you started the load so it would remain locked until you came back and put the pin in to unlock it. Also, in the lobby you can use the check in machines to exchange your coins for bills which came in extremely handy for us.

The hotel’s central location near the Peace Memorial is undoubtedly one of its highlights. It made exploring the city convenient and added a layer of historical significance to the visit. Additionally, having Lawson, Family Mart, and 7-Eleven in the neighborhood was incredibly handy for quick snacks and essentials. The room itself was a pleasant surprise. It was spacious and well-furnished, with a proper desk, a chair, and even a mini sofa, making it comfortable for both work and relaxation. The bathroom was equally roomy, which added to the overall comfort. The staff also deserve special mention for their friendliness and willingness to assist, which enhanced the overall experience.

Perfectly located with tram and bus stops outside and only a short walk to the peace park and atomic bomb dome. The staff were helpful pre-arrival and throughout my stay; the requested bedding was in place in the room on arrival and a proper secure storage of luggage post checkout was available and worked well. This and the free loan umbrellas allowed maximum use of time in Hiroshima. The breakfast board showing when people were going for breakfast was a useful innovation to show the actual likely peak demand. Breakfast had just three choices (Japan/US/mixed) but was delivered swiftly and was good quality.

Once we figured out where to catch the trolley car at Hiroshima Eki, and what line to use, it was smooth sailing getting to the hotel. The trolley car stop was a mere two minute walk from the hotel! The hotel was also a short 10 minute walk to the Peace Park, which made it really convenient. The location of the hotel was great! All else was just fine as well and I would highly recommend staying here!
